Privacy
The short version: we hold almost nothing.
Draft for the site owner. This is a plain-language starting point, not legal advice. Have it reviewed against the privacy law that applies to you (for example Canada's PIPEDA and any provincial rules) before you rely on it, and replace the bracketed notes.
The study app
There are no accounts. Your answers, notes, plan and settings are saved in your own browser, on your own device, using local storage. They are not sent to us. We cannot see them, and we cannot recover them if you clear your browser data, which is why the app offers a backup file.
The site does not use advertising or tracking cookies. [Owner: if you later add analytics, name the tool and what it collects here before you switch it on.]
How questions reach you
NursePath questions are kept on our server and sent to your device as you practise, a few at a time, rather than all at once. To do that, the server receives the ordinary technical details every website receives with a request, such as your IP address and the time. We use them only to keep the service running and to stop automated bulk copying of the question bank, for example by limiting how many questions one connection can request in a short time. They are never linked to your answers, which stay on your device. [Owner: when this is built, name the host (for example Cloudflare) and say how long request logs are kept.]
If you download an offline pack (up to 100 questions), it is stored in your browser on your device, like your progress. You can remove it at any time from Settings.
Your own study sets
Questions, cards and notes you import into My study sets are stored in your browser's own database on your device (IndexedDB). They are never uploaded. They are included in the backup file you can download from Settings.
Study room music
If you add a YouTube, Spotify, SoundCloud or Apple Music link in the Study room, its player loads only when you press play. That service then receives the usual information any embedded player does, under its own privacy policy. Your list of links stays on your device. The ambient sounds (rain, fire and so on) are generated in your browser and contact no one.
No third-party requests by default
Fonts, icons and sounds are all served from NursePath itself. Nothing on the site contacts another company unless you choose to, for example by pressing play on a music link, following a link to a resource, or making a donation.
Shared study set links
When you share a study set by link, the set is stored inside the link itself (after the # sign), which browsers never send to a server. Only people you give the link to can see it.
A Study together link works the same way: it holds only the start time, the rhythm and the optional name you typed, after the # sign. Everyone's timer is worked out on their own device from the clock. Nobody can see who else has the link open.
If you give
Gifts are handled by a third-party payment provider. They collect what they need to take payment, under their own privacy policy. NursePath does not see or store your card details. [Owner: name your provider and link to its policy.]
If you write to us
We keep your email address, and anything you choose to write, only to reply to you. You can ask us to delete it at any time. Your message may pass through a form or email provider on its way to us. [Owner: name the provider.]
Children
NursePath is meant for people preparing for a professional exam and is not aimed at children.
Your choices
You can clear everything the app has stored at any time from Settings, or by clearing site data in your browser. To ask about, correct or delete anything we hold about you, contact us.
